CANTINE BALITA PHILOSOPHY

Non-negotiable quality.

The sky is the limit when we refer to our non-negotiable quality. We decided to produce authentic Italian wine in Bali, and we agreed to do whatever it would take to make our dream come true.

Our policy of non-negotiable quality is deep-rooted throughout all areas of our operation and team. There are no compromises when it comes to reaching our quality standards.

We base our entire company thinking and decision-making process on this principle. No matter how difficult the obstacle, we would solve it, staying true to the Italian organic winemaking principles and our standards of excellence.

Problems are opportunities.

The journey to where we are today was a challenge, yet we never shied away from our goal of creating wines of international standard in Bali.

We spent more than two years experimenting and pursuing rigorous research and development, following our plan to make Isola Wines in Bali a reality. Winemaking in the tropics is an entirely different animal than it is in traditional wine regions.

As we implemented our Italian winemaking know-how, we stumbled upon countless obstacles that made us go back to the drawing board and think again. We would not let these bumps stop us from fulfilling our dream, so we did everything in our power to find solutions.

The problems became our opportunities, as we had to develop new techniques. The result is a unique agronomy program and a winemaking style that makes excellent wines.

Less is more.

We believe in the principle of less is more in all aspects of life, and we have adopted this approach in our company culture. Less work, but better work ensures a better quality of life, better products, better teamwork, happier staff, and a healthier environment.

In our agronomy and winemaking process, this translated into:

• Growing fewer grapes but only of the highest quality.

• Guaranteeing our farmers a higher return by promoting the cultivation of quality instead of quantity.

• Producing smaller batches of wine but ensuring consistently high quality while always improving.

Drink local, think global.

At Cantine Balita, we believe in “made local” and “made in Bali.”

By merging Italian viticulture knowledge with traditional Balinese agriculture, we made it possible to produce high-quality wines in Bali that match famous international wine labels.

But in reality, our wine doesn’t merely “match” those labels: our wine is unique because it’s made in Bali with great passion and personal care by our founders and dedicated team.

Our Balinese Founder, Agung Bagus Pratiksa Linggih and Giotto Castiglioni, the creative mind behind the project, along with our Winemaker Giacomo Anselmi, have had a hands-on approach throughout the whole process of creating Isola Wines, from the very beginning in 2012 until today in 2020.

We are proud that we can now say we have raised the standard of Balinese wines and have put Bali and Indonesia on the world map of winemaking.

Together with our local farmers, and winery team, we have created a product of the highest international standard about which every Indonesian can be proud to say, produced, and bottled in Bali.
